Nameplate ‘Haymarket’ as carried on class 47, 47715 when the nameplates were fitted at Haymarket depot open day by Robbie Coltrane, actor on August 24th 1985
An ideal gift for that someone who loves the class 47s and doesn’t want to fork out £1000’s for a genuine plate!
The nameplate measures approx 720mm x 185mm and comes in kit un-finished format allowing you to prepare, glue, prime and paint it. The nameplate is made using an MDF baseplate, MDF outer frame and letters.
Unfortuantely, at present, we are unable to provide a ‘fully finished’ custom nameplate for this one.
To complete the nameplate, you will need to glue the letters and outer border to the base, using the top template as a guide. once dry, this needs to be primed. We use Halfords grey primer on most of our kits and it adheres to the MDF base well. Light coats and gradually build up as you go along. Some light sanding with a fine sandpaper is ideal prior to painting. Nameplates were normally either in red or black background with silver lettering and border. Plastikote spray paints are ideal or you can choose a range of colours from Graff City, click here to visit their website.
Once done, the outer border and lettering can be hand painted using Hammerite Smooth Silver.
Postage will ONLY be via Parcelforce due to its length and will only be posted to a UK address.
