O Gauge – 77mm/105mm and adjustable track setter tool (2 in a pack)

Here’s a nifty little tool for those who want to align trackwork. Our O gauge track setter has markings for both 77mm, the guide spacing between a pair of main lines and 105mm for between a pair of main lines and one or a pair of additional running lines or between a main line and a siding.

If you need a different spacing then it’s a simple case of untightening the wing nuts on the track setter and adjust as necessary.
In the image above, we have three lines coming out of a diesel depot and the spacing is 118mm (track centre to track centre). So, we simply adjust the setting on both track setter, then run the tool along the track to make sure that the gap is maintained throughout the length of the track, whilst pinning/screwing as we go along.

The orange track setter has grooves in them that slot onto the track and works for both flat bottom and bullhead track.

Instructions

The track setters will come with all parts in place. Simply undo the wing nut and if using the 77mm spacing, make sure the edge of the orange setter is parallel with the track setter tool 77mm lines top and bottom. Once happy, re-tighten the wing nut and do the same for the second tool. If you need to set the tool for the 105mm, simply undo the wing nut, adjust to the 105mm lines and re-tighten.
Of course, this track setter can be adjusted for other track centre distances, like we did for our three depot lines in the image above.
