O Gauge – ‘DIESEL SHUNTER SHED’

With ever increasing ready-to-run models coming on to the O gauge market, many have taken the plunge and decided to do small diorama/shunting layouts in the limited space that they have.

So what better than bringing a small shunter shed to our O gauge portfolio. Originally, I had helped a modeller with their design of a OO gauge little shed for their layout and it gave me some inspiration to come up with my own little shed but of course, in O gauge and this is what I came up with.

It was designed to simply house a small shunter (we do bigger diesel depots!) for those that wanted to incorporate having a small shed for their layout. With our enhanced laser engraved brickwork on both the exterior and interior, I was right at home making sure that the brickwork looked as good as it could be and with our demo, I gave the internal a lovely clean coat of white primer, which really highlights the brickwork and then outside I simply used an enamel paint (Humbrol 62) all over, allowed to dry, gave it a quick blast of varnish and then used some mortar-mix to finish it off.

The shed represents a building of old but with some later alterations, newer windows, a corrugated roof instead of a tiled effect one and some new doors, which the idea came from looking at the ones on Inverness depot.

So, if you’re new to the gauge, and stuck for space but want a small shed, then look no further!

Comes as a kit but some parts of the kit will require priming, painting and/or gluing. A sharp craft knife/zippy blade or similar will be required to remove pieces from part of the kit.

Advise: When painting, do so in a well-ventilated area and use an appropriate mask.
